The 2021/2022 Peace Builders

Eric Garcia is a sophomore at Mansueto High School and is from the Back of the Yards community. Eric is sponsored by Xochitl-Quetzal Aztec Dance.

My goal as a Peace builder is to learn and teach the true meaning of peace in 5 to 10 years. I would want to see myself leading young kids down the right path.

Diana Becerra is a sophomore at Lake Forest College and is from the Little Village community. Diana is sponsored by Xochitl-Quetzal Aztec Dance.

I am a Peace Builder because I am motivated to help inspire other young people to create unity through my learning experiences. I believe that young people have a great capacity to influence communities positively and increase peace.

Casper Powell Jr. is a junior at Walther Christian Academy and is from Hillside. Walther Christian is also sponsoring Casper.

My goal as a peace leader is to try my best to spread peace wherever I go. I want to help as many people as possible. I see myself still helping people as much as I can in the future.

Taylor Moore is a freshman at Illinois College and is from the West Garfield Park community. Taylor is sponsored by Holy Family Ministries. 

I am a peace builder because I believe my generation and the next can build peace within their communities and society. Generations have the power and resources to bring peace within society and I think the Peace Exchange is a great start.

Alexis Esparza is a filmmaker and lives in North Lawndale. She is sponsored by Free Spirit Media.
